The new SureSmile retainer is designed for 12-month wear in order to maintain tooth alignment at the end of treatment. SureSmile aligners are designed to move teeth, whereas SureSmile retainers are designed to hold teeth in place to prevent relapse. SureSmile aligners and retainers have the strength to protect teeth from the damage caused by bruxism without compromising clinical effectiveness when under orthodontic treatment and used as prescribed.
